What it does

Your money, your rules.

Adapter is an autonomous money agent, moving money on your terms - whether that's a business or a household.

Split what comes in

Every payday, or every invoice paid, a slice peels off to savings, a tax pot, or the holiday fund. Set it once and the agent handles the split from then on.

Bills and supplier runs

Forward a bill or invoice to your private Adapter email address. The agent reads it and pays it from the account you choose. Add an approval step or a condition to skip it on your terms.

A buffer that refills itself

Set a floor for any account - a business float or a personal emergency fund. When a surprise cost pulls it under, like a car repair, the agent tops it back up at your next payment in.

Room for pause

Drop an approval step into any rule and the agent waits on you. One tap and it goes. No tap and it doesn't. Money never moves without your say-so.

How it works

Three minutes to set up. Forever to enjoy.

You'll be done before your kettle boils.

Step 01

Connect securely.

We use Akahu, New Zealand's official open banking platform. Your bank login stays with your bank - Adapter never sees it.

Step 02

Build your rules.

A simple visual builder. Drag a trigger, add steps, choose a destination. No spreadsheets, no jargon - your agent takes it from there.

Step 03

Get on with your life.

Add an approval step wherever you want a final say. Edit anytime. Cancel anytime. Nothing surprising - by design.

Scam resistance

A dead end for scammers.

Nearly every payment scam ends the same way: your money lands in an account you never meant to pay. Adapter is built so that account can't exist. Payee verification isn't a setting you turn on - it's the only way a payment can happen here.

Every payee is verified at your bank.

An account has to be checked and approved before Adapter can pay it. You authorise it at your bank, through New Zealand's open banking rails - not by typing a number into a box we take on trust.

The list is locked.

Money can only go to the payees on that authorisation. Anything else is refused before it ever reaches your bank, and the refusal is written to your log. A workflow will not even turn on until every destination is authorised.

A new payee needs you, at your bank.

Adapter cannot quietly add one. Point a workflow somewhere new and you go back to your bank to approve it, the same way you would to add a payee yourself.

An invoice can never change the account.

Forward a bill and it can set the amount, nothing more. The account is the one you already authorised. The classic invoice scam - a real-looking bill with the bank account swapped - has nothing to grab onto.

On top of that, every authorisation carries limits you approve at your bank - a cap per payment and a cap per month - so even a workflow behaving badly has a ceiling it cannot cross. Add an approval step and nothing moves until you tap yes. Every action, paid or blocked, lands in a log you can read.

Built for Aotearoa

Made here. For here.

Adapter is built by a small team in New Zealand, on New Zealand's official open banking infrastructure. It only works with NZ bank accounts - because we wanted to do one thing properly, not many things badly.

  • Built on Akahu's accredited open banking - the same infrastructure used by PaySauce, Booster, Sharesies, and many other NZ fintechs.
  • Built in New Zealand by a small team.
  • We never see, store, or transmit your bank password.
  • One-click disconnect. A clean break - we lose all access to act on your behalf.
Pricing

FAQ

Questions you might have.

Adapter never stores your bank password. We use Akahu, which is New Zealand's accredited open banking platform. You can even add an approval step to any workflow so nothing moves until you say so, even when you schedule it.
